Meet Our Family

Hello and welcome! I’m Emma—a proud mother of five wonderful children: two grown sons aged 21 and 24, and three younger little ones—two boys aged 12 and 2.5, and our daughter who is now 5. I’m a building surveyor and land buyer by profession, a lifelong dog lover at heart, and the founder of our small, family-run Australian Labradoodle breeding program. With over eight years of hands-on experience, I’ve built this program around the values of love, honesty, and a deep respect for the dogs we raise. Our journey into breeding wasn’t planned—but it was meant to be. It all began when my eldest son’s school friend’s mother introduced us to her Australian Labradoodle. After much pleading from my son, we brought home our first doodle—Darcey, lovingly nicknamed “Lady Muck.” Darcey quickly became the heart of our home. Her sweet nature, intelligence, and allergy-friendly coat won us over completely. Emma clifforth and her son Over time, I became close friends with the woman who introduced us to the breed. One day, she suggested that I consider breeding Darcey. At first, I was taken aback—breeding had never even crossed my mind. But as Darcey matured, and with encouragement and support from my friend, I decided to take the leap. I was nervous (and to top it off, my mentor was on holiday in Australia at the time!), but Darcey’s first litter arrived safely, and both mum and puppies were healthy. That experience taught me so much—about the breed, the process, and myself. From that very first litter, I knew this was something special. What started as a single experience has grown into a heartfelt commitment to raising puppies that are not only beautiful and healthy but also confident, social, and ready to become cherished members of their new families. One of the most rewarding parts of this journey has been connecting with families. I love learning why people want to welcome a dog into their lives—some stories are joyful, others deeply moving. I still receive regular updates from the family of Jasper, a pup from our very first litter who now lives in Shropshire. Over the years, I’ve received hundreds of photos and heartfelt messages, and it never gets old. Watching our dogs thrive and knowing they are so deeply loved is truly the most fulfilling part of this work. Looking back, it’s amazing to think that none of this would have happened without that first introduction to the breed. At the time, I was busy raising my children and studying as a mature student—breeding wasn’t on my radar. But life has a funny way of leading us exactly where we’re meant to be, and I’m so grateful for the opportunity and the support I’ve had along the way. Today, raising puppies is a part of our everyday life. My children have grown up surrounded by dogs, learning kindness, empathy, and responsibility from an early age. Our puppies are born and raised right in our home, where they receive 24/7 care, gentle handling, and constant social interaction. From the sounds of daily life to cuddles with the kids, our puppies are nurtured in a loving, enriching environment that prepares them for confident, happy futures in their forever homes. Every puppy we raise is part of our extended family. We stay in touch with many of our past litters—receiving photos, stories, and updates that warm our hearts. From playful companions to therapy dogs, our pups go on to live extraordinary lives in homes that adore them. I never imagined I’d be doing this—but I can’t imagine doing anything else.
