The Australian Labradoodle

The Australian Labradoodle breed is becoming hugely popular all around the world, due to their knowing loving temperaments, coupled with non to low shedding beautiful coats. They make the perfect breed to live with. The first Labradoodle was created by a gentleman named Wally Conran in the 1980’s. Wally a manager of the Australian Guide Dogs Association was set a task, to produce a hypo-allergenic guide dog for a visually impaired lady whom resided in Hawaii. Wally mated a poodle and a Labrador retriever; three puppies were born. Sultan was the only suitable puppy from the litter, he had an allergy friendly coat and a great temperament – alas the first bred Labradoodle.

Multi generation Labradoodles

Continuing Wallys creation, breeders Tegan Park and Rutland Manor infused other breed infusions into the Labradoodle, such as the Soft Irish wheaten terrier, cocker spaniel and the Portuguese water dog known as the multi generation Labradoodle.
