Puppies will be vet checked for health prior to going home (you will see results of this), microchipped, wormed at 2,4,6,8 weeks and given their first injection. The second injection will be required approximately 2-4 weeks after the first. You will be advised at the time.
I like to assess everyone’s suitability before you are accepted on the waiting list. I do this by phone call &/or questionnaire.
Nursery
Our puppies are born in our home in a specially converted room just off of our kitchen and family room. The room is temperature controlled, light, bright and cosy. There is a door, which goes directly onto the garden, so pups can enjoy playtime outside, which initiates a good start to outdoor socialisation and toilet training.
Mum dictates how much time she will spend with her pups, she instinctively knows what to do and when, which is really quite remarkable. She will freely spend time with her pups and the family.

Socialisation & Training
Our house is rather busy, so puppies gain a great deal of love and socialisation from the moment they are born. They will be used to many different age groups handling them, household noises e.g. washing machine/drier/hoover/tv /radio etc as well as many general outdoor noises. They will hear birds/lawnmowers/strimmer’s/hoses/children playing and overhead noises such as planes and traffic sounds from the road nearby.
It is very important this is continued once you take your puppy home to ensure your puppies progress and well rounded development. Group Puppy training classes are a good start; or alternatively one-on-one training as your puppy grows. It is important that all of the family rearing the dog all use the same commands / hand signals so not to confuse the dog and ensure consistency.
This breed is very easy to train due to their excellent eye contact, calmness and their desire to please. They are ideal for someone who has never owned a dog. From experience puppy training classes are a good starting point, but finding a well recommended one on one trainer whom will visit your home, and/ or come out on walks with you is priceless. I use reward-based training – lots of praise and tasty treats. The amount of time and effort you put into your puppy will certainly pay off in the long term.
There are many training books on the market, I recommend The Perfect Puppy by Gwen Bailey for its easy read and well illustrated images. This can be purchased on Amazon.
